Dummy & Sleep

Since accepting a dummy a few weeks back my girls sleep is so bad. She’s waking every 20-30 minutes wanting the dummy and messing on. I find myself in this cycle between 1-5am, I give up at 5am and put her in bed with me where she’ll sleep content. I’m actually demented and massively sleep deprived 😭😭 any tips or advice to help her sleep, she’s 5 months so recently out of a swaddle

Is it because her dummy’s falling out? How quick do you put the dummy back in?

@Talor yeah I think it’s cos it’s fall out, just as soon as I hear her start to cry - she’s still in her next to me

My girl does the same, as hard as it sounds try and delay putting it back in. I normally put it back in straight away and If that doesn’t send her to sleep I wait a minute and that usually does the trick x

@Talor I’ve tried that too, it didn’t work for us. Such a pain! She didn’t have a dummy for 19 weeks and now she’s got one she’s worse for sleeping x

Either go cold turkey on the dummy, or keep doing what your doing until she learns to put it back in herself - my daughter did this at around 7 ish months. We used to scatter about 5 glow in the dark ones in the cot with her x

@Amy my first born loved his dummy but once he was asleep he was asleep, baby girl is just the opposite. I’ll try keep up with it, I breastfeed in the night I’m gonna knock that on the head too, see if that helps x
