Need advice! dog ate a baby sock
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice or shared experiences. My dog ate a baby sock about 36 hours ago. Here’s the situation:
- He’s eating, drinking, and pooping normally, but the sock hasn’t passed yet.
- This evening, he tried to vomit but couldn’t.
- A vet friend suggested waiting and monitoring for now, but I’m starting to feel a bit worried.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? What did you do? Should I be concerned about the vomiting attempt? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have a puppy, the stuff he's eaten is insane! He had rope off a toy when he was about 10 weeks old and pooed it out about a week later all the while being himself. We didn't notice he'd eaten it till we saw his poo. I really would just keep an eye on him and tjr second he starts getting less himself speak to your vet friend for advice but that might be a vet trip for removing the sock

Our dog swallowed a fabric strap from a dog toy whilst at doggy daycare. Initially we didn't realise exactly what he had swallowed when they told us about it and then a week later he randomly started wretching and brought the whole thing up 😳 Because he acted normal and was still eating etc we didn't think anything of it. It may just take a little while to come out and the vomiting will have been an attempt to get it up I think
