Worried if baby is still reacting
My 7 week old baby was put on Neocate LCP following suspected cmpa - today is our 6th day on it. Baby’s symptoms seemed to improved at first but now I’m worried they’re coming back/presenting new symptoms. Baby is coughing and congested after feeds, crying in what seems like severe pain after some bottles (not all) and today done a poo that was so mucusy it was a sponge squidgy texture. Could this be his body getting used to the new milk as it’s only been a week or does this sound like he needs to try another new milk? Any help or insights in to how your little ones were would he greatly appreciated as I’m just spending most of my day worrying about him and whether there’s something else I need to do for him 😖
It can take up to 2 weeks to see a difference and 6 weeks for symptoms to fully go away. His body will still have cows milk protein in it so it seems like this body is trying to get rid of it. It’s not recommended to keep swapping milks either so I’d stay on this for a couple more weeks and see how he gets on. My daughter has been on neocate lcp from 5.5 months old (4.5 months corrected) and the first couple of weeks I thought she needed a different milk but she ended up getting much better on it after about 2 weeks and she was like a completely different baby x
