Tummy Sleeping

Is it okay for LO to sleep on me on their stomach? I know safe sleeping says on their back but during a contact nap (where I’m fully awake) can they be on their tummy?

This is the only way my 2 week old sleeps 😭

Yes if it’s on you & supervised then they are ok to be on their tummy. But you need to stay awake the whole time. If there is a risk of you falling asleep, try safe cosleeping which is back on their back. Baby should always be put to sleep on their back and ideally in their own sleep space. Many babies struggle with this to start but it is the safest way. But yes ok for supervised tummy contact naps.

Do you mean when they are on you? Yes definitely that's fine and totally different! Tummy sleep means when you leave them in a cot on their tummy which is a definite no go until they can roll. But sleeping on you on their tummy is totally normal and natural!

Yes as long as you are awake.

As long as on u then it’s fine x
