Help sleeping issue

Moo is 18 months and she’s been waking at 4am everyday for at least 6-7 weeks now, There was one occasion she slept in until 6am and that was in her travel cot, She’s not napping properly in her cot very well either. Now I’m thinking does she need the sides removing as she needs more space!?! The cotbed and mattress have very good reviews so I don’t think it’s that but the cotbed is a smaller one 120x40 in size. She usually only has one nap a day around late morning for an hour maybe hour and a half tops, However due to the 4am wake ups this has gone on a bit longer. Please help from one tierd mummy Thanks x

Oh it’s so hard when they wake early. Try shifting her nap to after lunch for 1.5-2hrs. She may be too tired by bedtime which is why she’s waking early. And make sure she’s had enough calories in the day, so she’s not waking hungry. Hope that helps.

We’ve tried moving her naps, even early afternoon naps and going to bed say 8pm nothing works. 😭 x

Oh it’s tough, it won’t last forever. Does she get lots of exercise in the day? Can you resettle her at 4am rather than get her up?

How long have you tried changes to the routine for? You need to try each for 1-2 weeks to see any improvement. How much sleep is she getting total in 24 hours?

She runs around and is very active during the daytime, She won’t resettle if we go in and try she’s awake awake. She usually has 11-12 hours max of sleep a day, 10 hours at night but she’s always been 11 hours at night plus an hour or so during the day, Just can’t understand how she slept so well in the travel cot but not her own bed, is it cause the travel cot is wider and she’s not rolling into the sides as much 🤯 x

If you’re allowing her to catch up on sleep during the day this could be driving the issue if she’s low sleep needs anyway. If my son has a bad overnight sleep (most days 😂) I don’t allow him to nap longer as a result as this just snowballs onto the next day. Have you tried capping the nap at 1.5 hours regardless of overnight/ wake time and getting her as close to the normal nap time despite the early wake? Side note my son always had his best sleeps in travel cots!

Keep in mind there’s a sleep regression at this age too. We’re going through it now so could be a combination of factors here x

She won’t sleep past 1.5 hours during the day, this usually happens before lunchtime so I really can’t understand why she’s not sleeping like she used too, Dreading the sleep regression coming on top of this x

Our daughter is nearly 18 months and we are going through similar. It seems to be getting better (not that I want to jinx it). Definitely think it could be a regression. Hold on tight mummy!

So we took the rails off the cot and used a bed guard, admittedly she did sleep better however still up at 4.15am 😭 x
