Help sleeping?¿

My son just will not sleep on his back at all no matter what we try. Is it normal? I know the health visitor and midwife says it’s not baby safe but what can I do if he just won’t. He just prefers front sleeping. Anyone else experiencing this?

Does he have reflux?

My first was like this. I had to hold him on his side to sleep 🙈

hmm, yeah, a lot of babies seem to prefer tummy sleeping, but it can be super stressful, right? just keep trying to put him on his back and maybe try some swaddling or a sleep sack to help him feel cozy! this is what the 'Heal Baby Care App' mentioned… hope it helps! "It's common for some babies to prefer sleeping on their stomachs, but it's important to prioritize safety, as back sleeping is recommended to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). You can try swaddling him to provide a sense of security, or using a sleep positioner designed for infants, but always ensure he is placed on his back to sleep. Additionally, consider creating a calming bedtime routine to help him feel more comfortable.

@Gemma nope he does not he’s just simply doesn’t like it at all.

@Jade oh god was it ok in the end, did the baby grow out of it? It stresses me out.

@Susan ohh thanks I am fully aware but nothing we have tried works. And it’s heartbreaking hearing him cry whenever I do. He also hates a swaddle and in the uk it’s recommended to have the babies arms out free. He doesn’t like a sleep sack also or blankets. 🫠🥲

Yes eventually but still to this day I cannot transfer him onto his back. I have to cuddle him to sleep sat up and then side flop him onto the bed, onto his side. He will then turn onto his back in his sleep.
