Flying?

Hiii so my bf lost his DL and has a flight on the 18th. Can he use his ID instead? Is it still valid since he has his license now? If I’m remembering correctly when I was younger they voided my permit of course but I think they told me my ID isn’t valid anymore . Not 100% positive or can we use paper ID to fly?

What kind of ID does he have a passport?

No passport, just a regular identification card

Is there an expiration date on it?

Where are you flying? It used to be domestic you can use driver's license, but not international. Last time I flew domestic I needed a passport

Is it a real ID or just normal? A real ID will work but if it's not then it won't

Look into what is required for flying. It should be online.

Call airport, TSA. Not airline.

If it is a state issued photo ID that isn’t expired, it will work. Starting May 2025, Real IDs will be required to fly domestic and international. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification

yes it will work, i've done it multiple times. i recently did too, on a flight to FL from SEA
