cmpa

anyone’s little ones have cmpa and if so have you experienced something similar? my dad was watching my 9 month old earlier and kissed her (fuming as i tell him not to on her face but that’s another subject) and he’d just had cheese and she came out in hives i didn’t know the extent of her suspected allergy, we only found out when it came to weaning her as she’d reacted to porridge and greek yoghurt but i can’t believe that she’d reacted so badly to even contact with dairy, have you experienced this and your little ones have outgrown it? i’m really hoping she does outgrow it but this incident has made me lose all hope cos i didn’t think it was so severe she can’t even have contact with someone who’s eaten dairy, let alone with the dairy product itself for context when she reacted previously she just came out in hives it didn’t affect her breathing, her bowel movements or anything like that

My baby has CMPI and is not this sensitive but I have read mom posts on Facebook where some babies are this sensitive. The group is called Fed Well Baby Dairy + Other Foods Breastfeeding.

My Bub has a dairy allergy with an EpiPen and has had a similar experience with her dad kissing her after his coffee. She is on a milk ladder to help with exposure and has been retested since her initial diagnosis and is still allergic, but her immunologist has reassured us that she will most likely grow out of it with time.

@Alana i have another appointment with the dietician next month and i think we’re going to start reintroducing dairy how’s it going for you?

My 7 month has CMPA and comes out in a rash if i kiss him after dairy without thinking!

@Emily have you spoken to an immunologist already? She was diagnosed through an immunologist and he created her plan. I have seen an allergy dietician since then, as my little one is a fussy eater and I was looking alternative food options; I honestly didn’t find her much help and I hope you will have more success with this than I did. My little one is on the second step of the ladder for both milk and egg.

@Alana no literally just the dietician they haven’t even “diagnosed” her so to speak literally just said yeh sounds like she could have an allergy

@Emily might be worth seeing an immunologist, to know what the severity is and to get a formal plan. Does your child go to day care?

@Alana no i’m in the uk too so really not sure how id go about it

@Emily oh yeah! Sorry, I’m not sure how things work over there
