Potty Training Poop

My daughter finally pee in the potty on her own, but she will not poop in the potty 😩 She poops in her underwear and tells me she did. Any suggestions of how to get her to poop in the potty?

Following because I'm having the same issue with my almost 5 year old daughter 😭

I hear you Mama! This potty training stuff is HARD! Especially the poo part. Mastering the skill of pooping in a potty or toilet can take some toddlers a little longer to get used to! (...aaaand lots of practice) before they eventually become comfortable pooping in a seated position sitting down on a potty or toilet. Hang in there! I can offer some helpful advice! We let our son pick out new briefs. Before purchasing them, we explained that this meant he had to keep them clean & that if there was a poop, we’d have to throw them out. Reiterated at home before unpackaging & him putting the briefs into the first wash. Made a big deal about the briefs when folding laundry. When he wore them for the first time, we just said how cool they were & asked if he was ready to keep them clean. When he did have an accident, we would just let him know that the particular pair he was in would have to be trashed but we could try again with a new pair. No extra emotions about it from any of us - clean up & move on. We also explained what poop was while diaper changing prior to switching to briefs. We made up a simple song for toilet time: “Get the poop out, get the poop out. We don’t need that, we don’t need that.” Silly but when he was on the tiny toilet & was considering a poop but was not convinced, this helped. Good luck!
