Breast pump

Has anyone used a breast pump whilst still being pregnant? I know babies will come when they’re ready etc etc. and pumping may induce labour. Just looking for advice 😊

I tried to harvest colostrum on the LOWEST stimulation setting yesterday and nothing… I don’t want to overdo it and hurt my nipples so proceeding with caution

I’ve been using a breast pump, the midwife told me it is safe and the only reason they say try to hand pump is because of the consistency of colostrum sometimes being easier that way. I can get about 10 syringes a go with a breast pump. Also at this stage in pregnancy they say nipple stimulation can encourage labor (not cause it) xx

I only use for 10 minutes on each breast as they recommend no more than that

I have been using a mom cozy one and do 10 mins stimulation then 10 mins on the mixed setting (so 20 mins each boob total) and I get around 50/60ml each time. I started by hand expressing and once I was getting an ok amount I decided to swap to the pump and so glad I did it’s easier and get soooo much more! Hope this helps 😁

Think they just say if you feel any pains etc when doing to stop but I don’t get any issues apart from baby wriggles around lots when I do it 🤷🏼‍♀️ also make sure you are 37 weeks before trying with a pump as you need to be full term!
