Orange poop

Has anyone’s LO had orange poops? My baby’s poops went from yellow to orange and I’m not sure if I should be concerned. He’s 4 weeks old.

Is baby on any kind of antibiotics? I’ve heard that they can cause orange poops or antacids containing aluminum hydroxide.

@Caitlin only antibiotic eye drops… would that have an effect? 🤔

All of my two week old’s have been orangey/tan and I’m told it’s normal and if it has a seedy consistency it’s also normal (for breastfed babies)

Doc says only time to really be concerned with movements is the number cuz it’ll indicate if they’re getting enough to eat

Totally normal for breastfed babies

Yeah, that’s completely normal. However, mine started getting a little bit of mucus and became more runny. That’s when I found out that my child might have a cow’s milk protein allergy 🥴

It also might be something you ate.

@Alaina actually breast milk is made from our blood, so food doesn't affect it. Wild fact 🤣

@Elizabeth It is made from our blood but if a child has CMPA (cow’s milk protein allergy), the dairy you consume will heighten the lactose in your milk. The milk protein lasts like 2 weeks in your system before it is cleared out, that is if you take dairy out of your diet. Broccoli and chocolate causes more gas to babies too 😞 these are things I am slowly learning. It sucks because there’s so many things to look out for if your baby has an allergy or has super bad gas issues.
