Just take everything you have.

They’ll give you back if they don’t use everything

I think it depends how much you have. If you have loads probably leave some at home so it doesn’t all defrost/get forgotten about in the hospital. But if you only have a few syringes maybe just take them all. That’s my thinking, if anything ever comes out🙈

I wouldn’t take everything you have if you have more than say 10 syringes as you don’t know how the hospital will store it (fridge or freezer) you might not need it as your body might produce it on demand and it could go to waste! If you live nearby could you take a small amount and get someone to bring you more should you need it?

we used 14 syringes (each 1 ml) . baby needed 4-5 ml every 3H. If you have gestational diabetes I would recommend bringing all. those babies may need more to balance sugar levels I wrapped syringes between 2 large icepacks and carried in an insulated bag. they were still frozen by the time we started using

Could you find out if your hospital will have a fridge or freezer? If you have lots definitely don’t take it all, it defrosts really quickly! I’m being induced and I expect to have around 6 syringes by then (I haven’t been a super producer like some) so I will probably take 4 or so and see how we go

@Buse wow everyone I spoke to has said they didn’t even end up using it. Did you have GD? I have it too that’s why I’ve been trying to get colostrum but so far unsuccessful.

@Amy-May yes i had GD, my glucose levels were stable with medication but baby still struggled with low sugar and body heat. colostrum helped a lot. i failed with hand expressing.i used spectra S1. just pump the flange upside down.then syringe colostrum from the neck. this way i was able to collect half a syringe each try,

How do you store the colostrum when you take it to the hospital?
