We're still on 7pm bedtime because I'm little one gets too dysregulated and needs one of us with her all through bedtime and it takes and hour for her to settle and sleep
I have 4 kids, ages 9,7,6&almost 2. We all sit down at 6pm to watch something together or do a bit of reading, have a chat, whatever they want as long as it’s calm and not too stimulating as it’s wind down time. The 2 middle kids go up at about 6:45 to brush their teeth, I then tuck them both in bed, say goodnight, hugs and kisses and come back down. Then I spend an hour with just my oldest and youngest. The oldest goes up to bed at 8pm. The youngest sleeps with me, we go to bed at 8pm same time as my oldest xx
With after school activities, we can't start bedtime until 7.45pm, they go upstairs, do teeth, hair, pyjamas and then they can read for 15 minutes. And fall asleep with a podcast on very low, usually 'dinner with the heelers'. I have a daughter and step daughter both aged 7, 3 months apart x
