Scabby bogeys

My 8 month old keeps getting quite hard bogeys in his nostrils that seem to be blocking his nose so I put saline up there to try and soften the bogeys before getting them out but this one seemed a bit scabby and the nostril was slightly bleeding afterwards not enough to be dripping out of his nostril but when I put my flashlight up there I could see a tad of blood that I managed to get rid of. Has anyone elses baby experienced this?
