Bump updates

Hi, I’m currently pregnant with my first and I’m 16 weeks. Currently I have no bump at all and I have not been showing, I understand age can play a factor and I am petite but I wanted to know if this is normal as everyone I see at even 10 weeks has a bump and I have nothing. The doctor hasn’t told me if baby is measuring small but I was wondering if having no bump would show lack of growth? This is how I look now and I looked the same before pregnancy. Has anyone experienced showing late or is it something I should be concerned about

With my first I didn't have a bump until 21ish weeks, don't worry about it, they are still so small in there. You look amazing.

Could just be that you have an anterior placenta! Bump will come, don't worry! 💕

@Sarah ok perfect kinda eased my anxiety because everyone keeps asking why I’m not showing and that I should be by now. Thank you ☺️

This is my second pregnancy so expected to show earlier but I’m not either really at 16 weeks and I have anterior placenta x

@Tara the doctor said my placenta is towards the back and it was a posterior placenta but I have no clue what that means 😂

@Megan is it alright if I ask when u started showing with your first ? And I’m assuming it will eventually grow not just pop out massive randomly 😂

I still don’t have a bump and this is my second pregnancy.

@Shay about 17/18 weeks I was holiday 😅

It depends entirely where baby is laid. My friend was a similar body type to you and had no bump, she hit 5 months and literally ballooned overnight 🤣

I didn’t have a bump until 20 Weeks with my first

Girl it’ll come!! Enjoy making the most of your beautiful clothes for now 😝 at 16w I wasn’t showing at all. I don’t think I did until about 20w

Second pregnancy for me and been wearing maternity clothes for the last 3 weeks. Definitely enjoy being more comfortable while it lasts.

Yep this is me at 19 weeks, no bump

I’m 16 weeks and massive, enjoy no bump while you can, because I already feel like a pop belly piggy and so scared as I’ve still got so long to go and I’m already uncomfortable 🤦‍♀️😩 You look fabulous 🥰

@Helen good because I have no maternity clothes yet 😂😭

@Lorraine oh no I’m sorry 😭 and thank you. You look beautiful by the way ❤️

I think in my first pregnancy I was around 21 weeks am 18 now and belly has gone super hard but wouldn’t say full on bump yet either x

I’m 20 weeks and I feel the exact same way. I’ve a scan in a few days so going to ask how baby’s growing then. But it’s definitely normal nothing to worry about x

I didn't show at all with my first until a hour before I gave birth 🤣 I wouldn't worry if you don't get a huge bump

I’m 18 weeks with my second and still zero sign of a bump 😊

I didn’t show until 22 weeks with my first pregnancy x

@Amy if you remember is it possible to update me on if your baby is growing fine only because my 20 week scan is on my 21st/22nd week and I see no one until then x

@Natasha haha how lucky 😂

@Ann marie aww your bump is so cute and I never thought of it being uncomfortable completely skipped my mind 😂 thank you

I didn’t show until the last two weeks

I'm 17 weeks and no bump either x

@Shay sorry, posterior is what I meant!! It means that the placenta is at the back of your womb so isn't protruding out of your tummy

I’m having my first and popped at 5/6 weeks! Mental how different we can be!

@Emma it really is, it’s beautiful how everyone has different experiences though x

Hey lovely, I didn’t start showing till I was 28/29 weeks and even then it wasn’t a proper bump. I’m now 37 weeks and I still fit into all my clothes 😅. As for growth - baby was measuring around 50th percentile the whole time up until 35 weeks where he dropped to 10th (this has nothing to do with my bump tho as beforehand he was measuring perfectly average) It’s different for everyone ❤️ sending you lots of love during your pregnancy and I hope you enjoy it x

@Natasha thank you so much I was worried at first but I’m starting to realise when I stand there’s no bump and I’m not showing but when I lay down it’s like it pushes the baby towards the front so it’s more visible (still not big but more noticeable probably people might think it’s bloating) but after talking to family they explained that due to my placenta being towards the back I won’t show as much x

@Shay I’m the same. I only noticed on the nhs notes last night that I’ve a posterior placenta which explains why not showing much and that I just look like I’ve gain weight when I haven’t really it’s just small and low like bloating. X

@Amy I’ve got the same placenta. I think to others they noticed weight gain like my thighs and bum but because my belly is still flat they don’t think I’m pregnant. This picture was from nearly a month ago now and I have a little bloated more towards the bottom but that’s it x

I’m Starting to get a little more noticeable now. I’m 22weeks and 3-4days (I try not to focus on the days too much as just trying to survive the week)😌. I’ve definitely noticed my chest and thighs are thicker as I’m usually a size 10uk in jeans and tops, but there feeling a bit tight so sized up to a 12uk and just wearing lose fitted tops and summer dresses. X

@Amy I think I’ll just wait to see but I’m a uk 4-6 and still fit in my clothes my pants are a lil tight at the bottom so now I prefer 6 but still got a while to go so we’ll see x
