I have started on 38 weeks, I did get only 0.1 ml with the first attempt and then everyday it has increased now up to 0.5 ml. Taking warm shower and relaxing helps a lot before harvesting. Although it requires more effort than I thought and makes my breast a bit sore afterwards. But be patience with yourself 💕
I’ve started collecting, first day I got 1ml but now I am getting 0.5-0.7ml/day. Apparently that’s normal though ! Xx
I didn’t really get much with my first until after he was born. We breastfed for 8 months. I’m 34 weeks with my second so hoping for more this time around!
Hi lovely, with my first I think I literally got 0.1ml the first try. I think it definitely gets easier as you go on and get more confident with hand expressing. I eventually managed to collect about 30-40ml in total for my first. So you’ll defo get there. I’d say for me there’s literally one position I can squeeze in to get it to come out. Otherwise nothing does… so try different positions when you squeeze & id say for me personally it’s closer to the nipple that gets it out. I don’t know if that’s the same for everyone xxx
I’ve never managed to get anything prior to giving birth but have breastfed two babies to a year old. It’s pretty hard to get the first sticky stuff out and you so don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I’ve heard relaxing in the bath can be helpful xx
Thank you everyone!!! Tried a second time and nothing again, so feel a little disheartened but will keep trying. How long does it take for it to come out? Perhaps I don’t do it for long enough? 🤷🏻♀️ xx
I do 5 minutes each side, lots of massaging beforehand of the breast down to the nipple and always after a bath xx
I find if I make a “C” shape and massage for 10 mins then I can squeeze and release a syringe full.
I’m 37 weeks and manage to do a syringe a night. I started a few days ago. I do it in my bed last thing, takes longer this time than it did with my first baby. Make sure you are relaxed and quiet and massage your boob! I do one boob a night then switch!
