Night feeds

Does anybody keep their baby upright after a night feed? My LB is EBF and ever since he has been a newborn we have kept him upright for 15 minutes after a feed. As he has gotten older ( now 4 months) this wakes him up as I don’t think he’s very comfortable being sat upright on my chest anymore. I have always done this to help with wind as he has fallen asleep feeding so hasn’t burped. Do people still do this? Is this something I could stop doing and put him down straight after feeding?

Please don’t stop. It very important to keep them straight up otherwise they will vomit the milk and may even have difficulty breathing in that moment.

Never have done this aside from when he was tiny

I stopped doing this after like 3 months and my baby’s been fine

I feed my son side lying anyway so never really kept him upright after a feed at night. He’s been fine, not a sicky baby anyway though

I do this in the day but not in the night, just burp and back to bed

Didn’t do it past 3 months x
