My first pregnancy went exactly like that! At least once a week. It was awful!! I’ve been on edge this pregnancy and sleeping lightly because I’m paranoid about stretching in my sleep and it happening again! Only happened once so far 🤞🏼 but instead I get cramp in every other part of my body! I literally can’t do anything without getting cramp in my back, or my shoulder or my feet! Horrid horrid horrid 😖
@Mia that’s exactly me, i mean my first pregnancy was fine but this one im so scared to sleep and it does seem to happen when i stretch in my sleep, i get terrified! but three in one night is the worst, ive only ever had it once in a night and i wonder whether going to the theatre, sitting for prolonged periods, me being the one driving had to drive an hour and twenty to in laws, an hour and a half to theatre and then another two hour drive back, maybe this put a kind of strain on me that caused a three leg cramp episode?? i struggle to fix it when it happens. my partner, as gently as possible, basically told me to stfu bcos i was screaming and he literally said it sounded like i was being murdered and he was worried the neighbours would call the police 🤣😭 he would wake up and massage my calf for me, but one of the times i was screaming he was like babe you need to stop screaming we’ll have the police called 😭😭😭 xxx
Yes have found magnesium helps with leg cramps! Would recommend an Epsom salt bath 😊
I proper scared my partner with leg cramps one night, he thought something was wrong with the baby but I was too in pain to tell him it was just cramp (bodes well for labour!). I get it when I stretch at night but I can now feel it coming on and know to make sure I point my toes back towards my shins to stop it coming on fully! Midwife suggested magnesium gel or salts and stretching before bed (I'll be honest, I haven't tried these out..) but I've used magnesium tablets in the past for other muscle issues so I can definitely see it being useful!
Magnesium cream/supplements, and tonic water to drink is meant to help aswell.
I've been struggling with leg cramps on and off for a few weeks and it's horrendous. Usually I have to roll out of bed but when the cramp hits I somehow manage to jump out of bed to stretch it out asap. Can still feel sore the next day People say magnesium helps, I tried to stretch my legs a little before bed and also have a shower to try loosen the muscles
