Reduced movements

Just wondering what is likely to happen when you ring triage and say you feel the baby less move? I’m 36 weeks and I’m not sure if I’m being paranoid because I’m so fed up and want him out or if he’s actually being less active

They will ask you to make your way in to triage and will put you on the monitor which can take anywhere between 10 minutes to 1 hour to review how baby is doing and they will send you home if happy with the monitoring

They will tell you to go in and they’ll pop you and baby on a monitor that measures babies and your heart rate. They will also give you a button to press when you feel baby move and then monitor for a certain amount of time. There’s criteria they like you to meet and will also ask you if you’re happy with the movements even if they meet the criteria

@Chloe following on for this they sometimes make you wait for a dr in my experience and that can take hours but I self discharged last time when I knew baby was ok x

Thank you girls xxx

If you’re worried about reduced movements I’d ring them. They’d always rather see you and they’ll tell you this much when you’re there xx

Always go in to be safe if you even are questioning reduced movements. They will check on the baby to make sure everything is okay, they will not judge you if you go in and the baby is fine

they’ll ask you to come up, you’ll usually be triaged first so urine test and blood pressure, then they put you on a little monitor thingy and put little straps on your belly and give you a little buzzer like thing to press when you feel baby move and you just kinda lie there for a bit until the midwife comes and checks the monitor. if all is well they’ll send you home and if not they’ll just keep you in for extra monitoring or suggest induction if baby’s distressed. but i wouldn’t worry sometimes they just have lazy moments, please get checked tho as you know baby best x
