I had more clots than usual for my first period. I just assumed it was because I hadn't had a period in a year so my body had more uterine lining to shed than it normally does. If you are concerned though, it doesn't hurt to see a doctor. I will also add that my first period was heavier and much more painful than they usually are.
@Faye yes, I’m exclusively breastfeeding and they’ve been between a penny size and little bits. I hope that makes sense.
Your PP periods will not be the same as what you had before. If it gets a lot worse then contact your GP but they tend to be pretty rough the first few times.
It could be a miscarry, you would still test pregnant if you tested now because hcg wouldn’t have dropped completely off yet. But it could also be your uterus flushing extra clots from early postpartum days maybe? Or just a weird period 🤷♀️
if this is your first period since giving birth it is likely fine and can be known to be funky and more heavy. the size clots you are having don’t sound too large. my ob said anything golf ball size or larger. that being said, it wouldn’t hurt to call your ob as it’s better to be safe than worry
my first period PP was insanely heavy, painful, lots of big clots and terrible side effects. sounds like your period. try not to freak out, rest as much as you can and take care of yourself
are you breastfeeding? how big are the clots?
