HOW?!

How are people going out with their baby?! By time I feed her, pump, wash parts, get myself ready, get baby ready, pack bags/car it’s time for her nap then she’s up and hungry again and the cycle repeats. I’m so stressed out. I have no “village” I’m getting depressed I feel trapped in my house :(

When I was nursing, I would pump on the go and found a good cooler to bring milk with us on the go and had my baby sleep out and about. Definitely took some getting used to and started with shorter outings and then worked to longer

Hi there momma I totally get you! I’m exclusively pumping as well and I also struggled to find a window of time to leave the house. What I discovered is that when I go out with baby, something has to give. It’s either she will need to nap while we are out, or we leave after her nap and she’d have to drink her milk and I pump outside. I find the former easier so I try to get her to nap when I’m out. When my baby is tired she will nap in the car seat while I drive to place or drive home, so I would do that. And I’d have to accept that on the days I go out she may get one less nap than usual (same goes with maybe I wouldn’t be able to pump on time etc). I also got a good portable pump and I have gotten her out right after her nap and I’d bring her milk and my portable pump, get to our destination early and feed her and pump in my car before doing our outing. I also accept that I can probably do this once or twice a week not daily. Hope this helps…!

Also now that she eats solids more I find that her milk intake interval can expand a bit like to 3.5-4 hours instead of 2.5-3 hours. Same goes with my pumping

I’ve been having same battle. I want to get out with baby but there is about 2.5 hours in between his naps so unless I get him to nap on the go, it won’t happen. It’s this whole idea of needing to be on a schedule that stresses me the f out 😩

Hey! I would store my pump parts in the fridge once emptied and use them throughout the day, storing them in the fridge. Sometimes I’d rinse them, other times I wouldn’t. My baby would sleep on the go, either in the car seat or at the actual place we’d go to so if your baby is big enough for strollers and/or carriers they can nap in them both (in carrier just make sure baby is in a good position and can breathe, I religiously check on my baby when he sleeps no matter what lol)

I’d wash the parts at the beginning or end of each day, I wouldn’t go multi day fridge store

Honestly, I just do it. When we go out, my baby naps wherever we are. I did the same thing with my older two and now they are very flexible with sleep and can sleep anywhere which has been very nice for trips!

Baby naps and nurses on the go. I don’t exclusively pump but I do have a wearable pump so I always pump on the go while doing other things. I even wear it during work meetings. I definitely feel more comfortable doing all this with baby #2 so I get it but babies are generally easier to take places than toddlers!

Dress, feed, out the door! Breastfeeding has been the best thing for me tbh lol. My girl wont drink milk out of anything but a boob and is generally a chill and clean baby; so my purse is her bag as well; a snack, some diapers and wipes a spare top and we are good for at least 3-5 hrs before we are both over it
