Waters

Random and a silly question but how would I know if my waters are breaking, I'm so worried I won't realise and then baby gets an infection

My waters were popped last time so I don’t know how it feels naturally, but it was warm and constant, also my bump went down so you’d definitely notice x

It’s a lot of water not to notice. You will know. It’s also very hot.

If it trickles, it’ll be in gushes.. but you’ll notice it’s not a wee sensation as you won’t be able to stop it. Never experienced a ‘gush’ or ‘pop’ last time, but would assume it’s very noticeable due to volume of fluid

Generally if they go on their own you feel a little pop and it’s quite a lot of water. Yes sometimes peoples break and trickle but that’s much more rare. I’d say you’d almost definitely know. But equally lots of people end up having contractions and having them broken in hospital so don’t worry about something that might not even happen xx

Thank you all :)

i had polyhydramnios with my first so i got told if my waters broke it would be a massive gush and i’d have to get on my hands and knees until the paramedics arrived. however i actually ended up just slowly leaking for a few days and then when i finally considered i might be leaking i’d made it to the hospital and as i was walking to the room to be examined my waters fully burst and i was soaked, to make things worse there was a cleaner who’d just finished cleaning the hallway🥲
