@Louise I don’t think I’d be able to wait that long. If it went through my community midwife she said she would be able to get me an appointment asap. I’m going to have to try ring her tomorrow and hope she answers. I’ve also googled some exercises so will have to try do them at home if I get some time x
I’m in a very similar situation. Check out midwife pip on insta. She has lots of tips and exercises. I am terrified of what it’s going to be like at the end.
I saw physio with my first and tbh it didn’t help even though I was religious with the exercises I was either on crutches or bed bound from 26 weeks. I’m 17 weeks this time and it’s come back 😭 nothing has helped so far except rest when I can (I also have a toddler) and baths or hot water bottles obviously watching the temp of them both 🖤
See a physio, or osteopath (they will give you good streches to do that help a bit) and get regular pregnancy massages, if you can. So far that is what is helping me, but I haven't figured out a proper solution except staying as active as possible. I'm only 16 weeks along but already struggling to get in and out of the bath which is my only option for getting a shower.
I got my physio appointment and I thought that was helpful with the pain. Honestly the days I don’t take a walk at all is the worst for the pain but then again even when I over exert the pain comes back. So there’s a balance which is hard to strike. I had gotten referred to pregnancy pilates classes at the hospital, 1x4 wks. I’m really looking forward to them as I want to feel stronger entering the 20+ weeks🥲 This is my first pregnancy and I’m around 18-19 wks. Other things that are helping Squeezy app- doing those light pelvic muscle exercises everyday 3x Engaging core and glutes while walking and getting out of bed, and being aware of neutral spine position while sitting for long hours.
@Kayleigh did you also have it after having your first? I did and got referred to physio for it as I didn’t get any help while being pregnant with my first. I remember I called the hospital ward and she said they couldn’t do anything about it and told me to rest 😫🤦🏼♀️ I was in excruciating pain and was bed bound and on crutches. I couldn’t walk, then when I gave birth it went and then came back 4 week post partum. Now I have it with my second so need to try do something about it before I got like I was with my first because I have a toddler that keeps me busy and I’m worried it’ll end up like last time. I have noticed though once I’m up and about it’s not that bad. It’s when I rest then get up xx
A chiropractor who specialises in pregnancy was what got me through my pgp. I was referred to a physio and the best they could do was offer me a strap. Tbf that did help a little on the good days.
@Natasha mine went away after birth luckily and didn’t return. I phoned my physio today and there’s an 8 week wait so that’s a nightmare as I’ll be 24 weeks then. It’s bearable if I’m ‘pottering’ around like the house, playing with my toddler, day to day things but if I walk too much in a day like go to town or carry excess heavy stuff it’s horrendous 😖 baths are the only thing I’ve found slightly helpful so far with a bit of radox muscle therapy it’s red, not the blue muscle relax as it has clary sage in !!xx
@Kayleigh I know how you feel I’m the exact same. Baths are helping me too and having this is an absolute nightmare! Xx
@Natasha it is an absolute nightmare especially with a toddler. I was hoping it wouldn’t be so bad this time as my body has already ‘stretched and grown’ once to allow for a baby 😅🤦🏻♀️
@Kayleigh I thought that too🤣🤦🏼♀️ is it to do with the weight and pressure though? I was hoping this time I wouldn’t get it. Just hoping it isn’t as bad as my first xx
@Natasha I think it definitely plays a part. I’m a size 6 when not pregnant and I carried quite big with my boy, he was 7lb 11 and born 2 weeks early. I gained about 25kg due to polyhydramnios so it was quite a lot of extra weight and pressure on my hips 🙈
@Kayleigh yeah definitely. I never even knew about pgp before pregnancy xx
@Natasha neither did I, but both my pregnancies have made sure I know about it now 🤣🤣🤣🙈 just think of the cute bundle of joy you’ll have at the end of it 🖤

@Kayleigh definitely will be all worth it ❤️ but I’m also worried It’ll come back after birth like it did with my first. I hope not xx
I went to see a specialist, and they recommended I try using a tens machine, although NHS guidance says they dont advise it until around 37 weeks pregnant. (For context im only 17 weeks) Amazon sell them for about £25 or you could rent one to try from a local Medical Center. So far, I can't say the experience is entirely pleasant, but it definately isn't painful and the buzzing does mean my brain cannot process the pain, which for me is a huge relief, and by changing the settings I can change the sensation from mild to more intense, as at different times the sweet spot for removing pain seems to change. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this for their PGP/PGS?
@Natasha I’ve got everything crossed for us both that it doesn’t return after birth 🙈🤣
@Kayleigh I have too! That’s all we need. Mine was pretty painful when it came back. It calmed down but the aches were still there sometimes. Now I’m waddling around my house everytime I wanna get up 🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣 xxx
Go to your GP about it and ask them to refer you or see if you can self refer I've had to self refer through a number from my doctor and was told it could be a 10 week wait!
