Small, frequent green poop

Hiya all, My little boy is 4 months tomorrow and is combi fed (breast all day, one bottle formula for bed and another one for the one wake up during night) and we have done this ever since he was born. The past week every single nappy change has had poo in it, it’s mostly been a mix of light green and dark green, sometimes it’s watery, sometimes it’s muscusy, sometimes it’s bitty. He has had a cold but it’s gone now and it’s still happening. Anyone know why this is?

My little one went though a couple of days like this, I mentioned it to my health visitor and she said it’s likely due to him only getting the let down milk from me and advised me to massage when feeding so he got the “fatty” milk and it’s not happened for us since. My boy was EBF at the time …… perhaps it’s the same for you? xx

@Carly I thought this, but he literally drains my boob completely so I’m not too sure what other milk he needs from me 😩 I’ll try massage, thank you!!

The only other thing I could think of was if he had been a little constipated and just hadn’t cleared out properly for a few days, but it sounds like your little one is regular. Perhaps offer a tummy massage for him (clockwise) and see if that helps? Good luck xx

My 4 month old has had the same in his nappies the past few days. Rather green and pretty much in every nappy change and very smelly. He is congested at the moment

My LB is the same (small, green and mucasy) and I've also been told due to lack of hind milk. He is doing a lot of snack feeding during the day, so this makes sense for us.. but hard to force fee him and I've also bee n advised to keep offering regular feeds rather than spacing out. I'll try good massage as comment above suggested - maybe this will help release some more fat into the milk!

Thanks girls! It’s nice to know that’s it’s not just me so probably not anything to worry too much about! 🩷
