Midwife appointments

Are we meant to see the midwife more often at the end? I saw her last week at 32+1 and I’m not seeing her again until 36 weeks and then 39 weeks. Surely she should be seeing me every 2 weeks until baby is here?

Yes, you should have one at 31, 34, 36, 38, 40, 41, and 42 weeks (if you go that far) Source - https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/

Are you having growth scans?? I have scans at 32, 36 and 39 but then health check ups with the midwife every two weeks in-between, I wonder if you're just missing those appointments? The hospital made my scan appointments and the community midwife the health check ones x

@Ashleigh no I have no growth scans, I had a scan the other week due to a couple of episodes of reduced movements but that’s all x

I've seen mine at 28 weeks won't see her again till 34 having growth scan at 32 weeks next week but this is baby number 2 so unsure if that's why I'm going from 28-34 without seeing anyone

@Ashleigh this is my 3rd baby, my 1st was during Covid but I’m sure I saw them more than I do now and my second was born by 37+4 so my last appointment was 37 weeks then x

Yeah on my badger app it says 31 weeks for 1st baby then 34,36,38 weeks and also NHS website states this x

I haven’t had a scan since 23 weeks? Is that normal??

@Holly if all is well you only get nhs scans at 12 and 20 weeks. I got sent for a scan at 24 weeks and 28 weeks this pregnancy for reduced movements and in my previous pregnancy I had scans from 32 weeks onwards for growth scans x

i’m seeing my midwife tomorrow at 29+3, haven’t seen a midwife since december which is weird cause i feel with my first i didn’t go so long between appointments

Just had my 32 week appointment and they told me the same thing as well. I won’t have my next until 36 weeks, but after that it will be every 2 weeks. Seems like a long time to wait
