Sadly it sounds like you are experiencing a hormone crash. Some women experience what is called second contractions or after pains when breastfeeding. This is linked to you producing oxytocin which tells your uterus to contract like it did during your labour. Your uterus will also be trying to shrink down rapidly to get back to normal size ready for your first period. The pains should decrease on day 7 after birth. You can purchase some drops called "after ease" but I'm not sure if they actually work. Some women absolutely swear by them. The fever and shivers may need to be addressed by a medical professional so definitely have a chat with your GP (if you can). But this still could also be linked to your hormones crashing. They think the sweating is to help your baby find you as their food source which is why some women experience what looks like something similar to menopause (night sweating).
Fever is not a good sight hun and could be an infection x please get checked as you’ll need anti-biotics and fluids xx
@Sarah i spoke to midwife and they said it’s normal, i definitely don’t feel normal and didn’t have this with my first baby !
Yeah I am shocked they don’t want to see you if you have a fever! I would 100% trust your instinct and ask to be checked as better to be safe and if I was a midwife I would absolutely rather check then assume, especially if you feel not good in general.
Just checking in to see how you're getting on? Did you manage to get hold of a GP or go to A&E? How are you feeling today?
I had horrific afterbirth pains! It actually felt like I was having contractions again! I was told this was normal if this is your second, third, forth etc birth. Apprently the more babies you have the more pain you experience after birth, as your muscles and everything inside is more loose and trying to contract back to its original form. Love how this is never communicated prior to birth for a heads up!! But if you don’t feel right it might be worth speaking with your GP xxx
Sounds like it could be an infection! Would recommend just ringing and checking to see if they want you to come in x
