I had this! I had an epidural through my labour, so when I had back pain early staged postpartum I just put it down to that. When my daughter was 7months (she’s 9months now) I spoke to GP and they refered me to MSK/physio as I couldn’t sit down or sleep or pick her up without being in pain. When I saw the physio she checked me over and the muscles on the right side of my spine had actually all seized and were really tight so I went once a week to see her and did daily exercises and it’s much better! I get done days where it’s sore but I just do my exercises and it helps! Definitely see the GP though as they can check you over or refer you to correct people x

@connie see that’s the thing i didn’t have the epidural so im so confused!! the only thing i did have that maybe contributed to my back pain is the fact that i had back to back labour x

I put mine down to having the epidural but actually the physio said it’s not from that my muscles had seized where I had a long labour and tense etc so when I went weekly to her she massaged the seized areas it was so sore but it’s really helped! Yours might be different but definitely go to GP and don’t struggle x

I wonder if you have sciatica

@Celinee i had very severe sciatica during pregnancy but this is different, unless you can get different variations of it. in pregnancy it was down my right leg and up my back but this now is just severe lower back pain x

@connie thank you for this will definitely be contacting gp if i can get an appointment x

I've been having some back muscle soreness as well, no epidural. Physio helps

I am the exact same!! (No pain relief giving birth, had mild sciatica before pregnant that got worse throughout pregnancy) My health visitor suggested using a tens machine so I’m going to give that a go! I also really need to see the GP but never get round to making an appointment 🫣

I have arthritis, bulging disk, degenerative bone disease plus more. I totally understand how u feel. It gets harder and harder for me to carry my daughter she’s 7 months old yet she’s the weight of a 9-10 month old. Her height is in the 98%tile for her age so she’s super tall she’s already half my size she’s to my hip

See your doctor but also maybe ring round chiropractors, physios, massage people and get their opinions. It might be a bit of a trial and error to find who suits your body most. I went to the chiropractor and it was the best thing for my back pain

@Vanessa is this genetic? my grandad has this x

@Jess my gp never has bloody appointments 🤣🤣xx

@Naomi thank you i’m turning 20 next month so im just hoping it’s not a life time thing you know? i’m constantly in pain and it’s really getting me down x

Best to try and get it sorted sooner than later! Hopefully it’s something small!

Same here, and I work in one 🤣 They might be able to refer you to see a physio without an appointment so worth giving them a call x
