Not sure what to do…

I’m pretty sure my daughter is only peeing a little bit to get her reward, a sticker, and not letting all of it go. It could be that I am just making her go more often than she needs to because she hardly ever tells me when she needs to go. I’m not sure how to get the point across to her that she needs to let it all go… any advice?

My son did this. Trained him just before he was 2.... I think he didnt actually start asking us until he was nearly 3 we had to prompt for a while year. But he got there

👋☺ Hi @Crystal I've been potty training toddlers for over 39+ years. So you can imagine I've tried every trick, method and technique in the book! 😅 When a toddler is withholding on the potty, or wont give a full release...one of my favorite potty games to play is "give me 5 drips" or encourage your toddler to "listen for the drips" to come out. Inevitably they try harder and strive for more drips, eventually relaxing their bladder completely. 🏆 Here's a quick video about how to accomplish this effectively and without putting too much pressure on your toddler. https://youtu.be/goaxRLXdM4w

Mine definitely played the treat game (his reward). We only gave one reward for a half hour even if he peed three times. How often are you taking her?

@Katherine Last night we went out to dinner, she went potty before we left our house. Then about two hours later after dinner I had her go before we left the restaurant. 30min later when we were home again I found she had peed in her car seat. She didn’t pee a whole lot at the restaurant but she did drink a lot of water. So is it withholding or am I just not in tune with when she needs to go?
