Struggling with my super active baby

I'm starting to really struggle with my super active baby. She is 1 on the 28th, and requires CONSTANT stimulation and/or attention. She will never just be held by us, or sit on our laps, or in a high chair etc. she always needs to do something and will wriggle away from us if we just try to stay still for a minute. She just cries and screams and gets super upset if anyone stops paying attention to her. I'm really finding it hard as it is so draining - she will only sit still with us if she is watching the telly, otherwise she is really hyperactive and busy. Is this normal? Family members are always telling me their babies were happy just 'sitting and watching', at my baby's age and it's making me feel like I've really done something wrong here. We've got to take her on a plane in June and i am freaking out cos idk how to get her to just sit still for a moment, let alone for a large majority of the plane journey.

My boy is the same. He never wants to sit still on our lap, wriggles to get away so he can crawl around. Even if he does sit still for a minute on the floor, he's banging his legs up and down. It's hard trying to give him milk as he just wants to get away and crawl or clamber around on the sofa. We're also going on a plane in May and I'm dreading trying to keep him sat down for that amount of time and how I'm going to keep him occupied.

I think not wanting to sit still on your lap is perfectly normal for this age 😅

I have the exact same problem with my one year old... All of a sudden he's so active and needs to be constantly stimulated. He cries and fusses the minute he's bored or we're not giving him our full attention. I said to my husband that we have to plan every weekend now, it has to involve activities, days out, soft play, just anything to keep him busy. I cannot have a bored baby on my hands. I find the idea of having to constantly be doing something quite stressful... I just see it as normal for this age, they're toddlers wanting to explore the world. Hopefully in the next couple of years it will be very different, or at least they can be entertained more easily (have friends to play with, go to clubs, etc) We're also flying in May... A 3 hour flight... I've bought lots of new toys and spinning things to stick on the plane window. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I completely feel your pain and it's completely normal. All toddlers are like this. Hopefully they'll calm down soon 🙏🏼😂

My first was the same at this age and it was alot so I understand. Thankfully he out grew it at about 2 he's still very very active but he can now entertain himself and does enjoy a cuddle on the sofa a few times a day. No advice as we had to power through as it started in my firts trimester with second so I was just trying to gey through the day at this point haha.

My girl has been like this since she was 7 months old 😀😮‍💨 she is now getting slightly more chilled and can sit on someone’s lap for a bit if they read her a book or play with a toy etc it’s hard work but you get used to it x

Thankyou guys! She's always been crazy busy, and it's always been tough but now she can move around and crawl its NEXT LEVEL!! I'm pleased to hear that it's not just me, as my family often make me feel like something is wrong with my baby but I know she's just a super busy, curious and inquisitive thing and that's all it is ♥️ I'm sure we will all get through this 🤣
