Good amount for first colostrum collection pre-birth?

For my son I didn’t collect anything before he was born and had such a hard time getting colostrum to come in after he arrived, hospital had me put him on formula until my milk came in. This time around I really want my daughter to have colostrum so I’ve decided to try to collect some before she’s here. Expressed both sides for 10 mins, I don’t really leak otherwise but ended up with a little under 1/2 oz. Is this good for the first time collecting? Those who collected before their babies were born, did how much you got each time go up as you did it more often? My syringes are supposed to be here tomorrow, shipment got delayed but I didn’t want to wait another day.

@Gabrielle I am 35.5 which I know is a bit early but Dr ok’d it since I’ve had a bit of a complication pregnancy and we’re not sure if girly is going to make it to 37 weeks. Didn’t have any contractions from it and plan to stop in the event they were to start up.

Don’t leave it in the fridge for more then a fee days. If you don’t collect enough in one sitting then put in the fridge. But once you have enough go ahead and freeze it

@Cenza you go girl! I got about 5/6 mls I had to force out in 3 days then I was booked in for an emergency induction the next day and I wasn’t allowed to take any 🙄
