I take Holland and Barrett’s pregnancy vitamin which has a multi vitamin and omega 3 in the same box. Usually they have the 3 for 2 offer also. Lidl does a really cheap pregnancy vitamin and I was buying separate omega 3 but now sticking with Holland and Barrett’s x
Never had any problems with Proceive. A little spenny but they are very clean in terms of ingredients and adjust according to your needs in each trimester
I found some in tesco that seem OK.
I've been using Boots Bump & Beyond with the Omega 3 tablets and not had any issues. Cheaper than most of the brands and the ingredients are more or less the same
i’m taking the bassets ones! they’re really good imo + they trick me into thinking i’m eating a sweet😂
I’m in the pregnacare max, but they do have a bit of an odd taste so I get where you’re coming from about making you feel ill 😅
I got the Holland and Barrett multi vitamin with omega 3, I take them at night so I don’t feel sick with the during the day
I study nutrition and one of the best ones I found is Naturelo! It has the active forms of vitamins in it which is really important since half of the population isn’t able to synthesise synthetic forms of vitamins. Glad you want to make a switch from Pregnacare, it’s such a heavily overmarketed brand that’s really not worth it 😅
I'm not taking as any, as they made me really ill, and midwife explained it meant my body didn't need them. I am taking vitamins D and B12, though, which I was doing beforehand.
@Kat if I could add what I learned in my nutrition studies… midwives are wonderful for many questions, but unfortunately not experts on nutrition so their advice may not always be as accurate. Nutritionists/Nutritional therapists specialise in this. They often explain that the most common cause for feeling ill from prenatal vitamins is actually the synthetic amount of iron many of them contain. This can cause nausea and other symptoms. Also taking them without food can cause that. That’s why prenatals with natural/active forms of vitamins are best because they are better absorbed and don’t cause those symptoms. I would be careful about anyone saying that you don’t need them. What do they base it on? The vast majority of pregnancies do need them, the only indication that you don’t need them are comprehensive blood tests for those nutrients, which unfortunately isn’t tested for routinely, so I doubt they have data to show that your levels are sufficient.
@Kalina That is really interesting. Thank you for sharing.
I was told as long as I’m taking folic acid & vitamin D nothing else really mattered. Think depends on you too and whether you’re lacking anything. But midwife seemed to screw her nose up when I asked if I should take anything else 😆
@Katie SAME!
@Kat of course, always love to help! ❤️
My last pregnancy I couldn’t stomach Pregnacare! But this time round I’m ok on them, I tried Bassetts chewable vitamins last time and personally found the taste even worse, so I persisted with Pregnacare but took them in the morning just before eating and that seemed to settle the nausea x
