Heartbroken

I met a mom on here about a year ago and we really hit it off. We had hung out a few times and talked a lot but she's just found out I didn't vaccinate my baby and no longer wants to be friends. My baby has never touched her child or been close to her child but she wants to protect her kid which I get, everyone has their own opinions. It just sucks that I've lost a friend over it, one I really really cared about. I'm not great at making friend so I was SO excited but now I'm just crushed and I'm so worried for the other friends I've made. What do I do? Do I just tell them all now and get it over with if they don't want to be friends with me? How do I make friends, do I disclose this right away or hide/lie about it forever?

That's sad 😔 I've been in two minds about telling people or not. My partner wants to pretend to friends and family if we get asked that we have vaxxed our little one and I'm torn because I think why not own up to it if they ask!?

It's interesting because our children's medical information shouldn't be public information. It's a shame that this topic, much like politics, ruins friendships.

@Lexy 🌱 💯! I shouldn't have to hide it, lie about it, or feel shame! It's ridiculous

@Hannah That's exactly what I told my mom when this happened. She told me that it's understandable since she's just protecting her child but I feel like if she valued our friendship enough she could have got passed it? Like we've never had a fight or disagreement and we had been friends for a year. It doesn't make sense to me personally to throw away a whole friendship because of one difference of opinion 😥
