Am I Wrong?

My Little Man will be 8 weeks old on Sunday and my sister was due to spend the weekend with us to meet him for the first time. Due to various reasons, she hasn’t met him yet despite having been able to had she really wanted to. She contacted me to let me know that she had a sore throat and her partner had symptoms of the flu…so my partner and I have said rain check for this weekend and try again another time because we don’t want to risk our baby’s health. Just wanna check I’m not being unreasonably because she thinks I am totally in the wrong here.

Oh no, you are doing the right thing. Little babies are very prone to catching any diseases and viruses, due to their immune system not being strong enough yet. I did exactly the same. Bacteria spreads really fast , and we can’t see it with naked eyes. O

You did the right thing!! Baby is too vulnerable at that age and the last thing you'd want is for him to catch something. You have to think of yourself too...you catching something too is just as bad when you've got a newborn to look after xx

@Lemees I did say that to her as well like how am I supposed to care for him properly if I am unwell and how can we afford to live if my partner keeps having to take time off work x

She told you for a reason, completely fair to postpone

She already knows she shouldn't come with a virus, that's why she mentioned it in the first place. She's probably just feeling bad about it and angry at herself but acting out in not the most helpful way. I'm sure deep down it's from a place of caring.
