Dentist

I have a routine dental check up tomorrow and just wondered if that check up will now be free or if it’s only free dental prescriptions and treatments (such as a filling) that you get free? I have my exemption form and am with an NHS dentist Thank you :)

Yeah fillings are free on nhs x

Yes the checkup and any treatment will be free during pregnancy up until your baby is a year old, as long as you give them the maternity exemption certificate information.

Make sure they confirm it’s from nhs. My dentist was so smart, he ‘forgot’ and used different material for 2 fillings and I had to pay private. Same thing happened when I had hygiene appointment. If I knew I had to end up paying, I would’ve gone to a different place. Lesson learned and I will always ask them to confirm any treatment.

Just provide your exemption form and you should be good for free treatment

@Marieta wow I would definitely write a complaint. They shouldn’t be charging you for work that’s been done if you didn’t know you had to pay. It’s not your mistake, you shouldn’t be paying for it??
