Suspect CMPI in EBG baby and accidentally ate cheese

Hi all, my breastfed baby is suspect has an intolerance to cmp because she gets really and upset tummy, trapped wind and rashes constantly if I have more than a tiny bit of milk (butter on toast or a couple of slices of cheese don't seem to have an effect but a glass of milk has her going stiff and in pain). It's been 5 months since I realised the correlation and have been careful since, it's become a mostly subconscious thing that I don't even think about any more having changed to oat milk and swapped a few other every day things. Today without even thinking I made myself a snack plate with brie, crackers and some meats. I didn't realise until I ate over half the triangle of brie and now I feel awful because she's probably going to have a day from hell tomorrow. I have the colic and widn medicine at the ready but is there anything else I can do? I've had it at night and there's going to be probably 8-10 hours between me eating it and her next feed but I just feel awful how can it have slipped my mind for a minute!? 😭

We have IgE here and I accidentally ate brioche croutons that were mixed in with sourdough ones for lunch - her mid afternoon feed came and lo and behold a couple of hours later she was one miserable baby - I felt awful! Lots of cuddles and snuggles and dairy free frozen milk if you have any put aside

@Faye dairy free frozen milk? I haven't tried that with her is it just like a little treat and distraction? She's 6 months and just started solids so everything is very new

When I found out about the CMPA I started freezing breastmilk when I had a really good pump so I had backup if I needed it. Have also used it as a distraction in one of those dummy things. No solids here yet but not far!

I think she meant frozen breast milk from while you are dairy free. This only works if baby takes a bottle as well though!

@Sarah this is very true. For babies who don't take a bottle I don't know if the breast milk pops might work? There's like a mesh dummy that you can get and I find the distraction helps
