What do you do in public?

My kid is 4, she’s fully potty trained but her dad brings her seat (pic below) everywhere so she can use the potty and said he’s gonna get a smaller one that folds for public spaces but to me that sounds like excessive. My mom used to put the paper down and that’s it and I don’t want her to clam up when she’s somewhere that doesn’t have that seat. Is that a normal thing to do?

We’ve always just used the normal toilet seat x

That's a pretty cool seat tho ngl

It’s really cool it definitely kicked her into gear when we got it bc she hated the game plastic toilet at first it also folds but I’m not carrying this around lmao

Frida baby makes a fold n go one we haven’t used it yet tho

You can get a fold up seat but honestly I just sort of hold them on the regular one.

We just used the toilet like normal when out in public from day one. I admire his commitment though, carrying that around everywhere seems like such a bind!

I just sit my son on a public toilet and he's fine.

I have my daughter use the regular toilet I’ve been carrying disinfectant wipes to wipe down the toilet.

I used the fold up one for my daughter when we just got done potty training because one time her butt fell in the toilet and it freaked her out so it helped us. It came in a little bag. My daughter carried a minnie mouse backpack with the toilet seat and an extra change of clothes and it worked great

@Annika this! We have one like this. But at 4-5 kids can learn to sit with toilet paper if they’re developmentally ready

@Sara this is great!! Want to get my son to that level soon!!

They make little foldable pads at Walmart

I bring a Cocomelon potty seat insert in the diaper bag.

I’m going to buy the toilet seat covers for kids, they cover the whole toilet plus the bowl so their legs won’t even touch the toilet and I’m going to get the small foldable toilet cover to put over the cover so they don’t fall in. My first born was a boy so I never had to worry about this bc I always just let his stand on the seat, but I have a toddler girl now so I have to buy these. I would also keep a portable foldable toilet in your car just in case you guys are driving around for emergencies.

The one on top you have to buy little bags to go under.

I have one that folds and keep it in my purse but we also use the regular seats but she has to hold on she'll fall in. She's 2.

We have a fold up one but only used it a few times. I find it kinda gross tbh, the idea of it being on a public toilet then folded up and back in the bag, even in a ziplock bag. I realise that's probably irrational but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just hold LO under the arms when using a public toilet

We actually don't use anything. I kneel and hold her in place in a public toilet, so she feels safe and like she won't fall. She just perches on the edge of the seat to pee. No dramas.

I noticed it was better to get my daughter to get used of using the regular toilet because she was scared in the beginning but we worked thru it showing her its okay to use as well as being clean first hand in public settings, sure enough little by little shr got comfortable and started using them . She will when she’s comfortable never force the situation
