But staff wise they are all lovely, especially the women in the post natal rooms xx
hey mine was an emergency but I went straight from theatre to recovery ward - no private room in between. post natal ward was 4 bays but they weren’t full x
I was in a shared ward with 4 others for a week before I got moved into a private room for the last few days of my stay there after my C-section ( blood pressure was higher than they would have liked )
Thank you - how long were you all in hospital for?
6 days due to my LO being 4 weeks prem x
I was in 2 nights but needed IV antibiotics - they can discharge after 1 x
I had a c-section at UHW. You are in recover for a few hours but it’s not private. I then had a private room for a night but that was because my baby had to go to neonatal for a few hours while they checked out if he had an infection (and so they didn’t want to put me on a post natal ward surrounded by babies while I didn’t have mine with me). We were on the post natal ward the following day. The nights can vary depending on how vocal the babies are- some babies are quite quite, others loud. And obviously they are awake and feeding at different times throughout the night.
I had a C-section at heath and did not get a private room before or after the C-section. Personally I was waiting initially down the assessment unit, then they moved me up to one of the regular recovery wards (prior to my C-section) as they needed the bed in the assessment unit. Then I was moved again into a 2 person room. I was there until my C-section and then I was in the initial recovery room for a couple of hours which is one big room with probably 8/10 women in it and then finally moved into the post natal room which holds 4 people. I can only speak from my experience but my C-section was classed as an emergency class 2 which isn’t life or death but they still want to do it quite quickly and it was postponed for 2 whole days due to different reasons. So bear that in mind that it might not happen the day you have it booked for. And if it gets postponed make sure your partner is always on standby as I was only given 20 min notice until going into theatre.
