Public bathrooms

My 2 year old boy refuses to use a public restroom while we are out and had an accident in the store the other day due to this. Is he just not ready or am I missing something? Any ideas?

Boy or girl? When my little boy was resistant to the public restrooms, we found bushes, tires, trees etc to pee on. It helped us until he got over it. It eventually became less scary to him and now I think he tells me he need to potty because he wants to go see the bathroom 🙄

Can he tell you why? I've heard some kids are scared of the auto flush and you should just put a sticky note over the sensor

My girl is doing the same thing. She was fine, then something happened (idk what) and now she's scared of the toilets in public places. She can't tell me why. 😞

Its no surprise that a toddler-in-training would be afraid of using the potty in public restrooms! This is very common actually. Poor little things 😥 Public restrooms are loud, stinky, germy and there are strangers in there! The big adult toilets are tall and way far up off the ground. And dont even get me started on those scary LOUD automatic flushers & hand dryer blowers! I can barely tolerate them myself! When somone else is using it, I cover my ears! 😫 For helpful potty training tips about this from a potty training professional - you'll find my potty training videos helpful! Free.
