Pinderfields Hospital - yay or nay?

I had my baby at Pinderfields and over all the care was amazing but the staff was far to rushed of there feet and they didn’t have enough beds or enough staff but I did give birth in August which is one of the busiest months to give birth. I was in for 5 days waiting for a bed on labour ward after my induction and the staff was amazing and so helpful but they just didn’t have enough beds unfortunately. But my midwife’s when giving birth ( I went through 3 staff changes) was absolutely amazing and the midwife at the end was a life saver I honestly don’t think I could of gave birth naturally without her. I’d just make sure you know all your options with all the different birth plans and make sure you stick to what you want depending on your babies health as I feel like they pushed the hormone drip on me and I didn’t fully understand it other than that it was amazing. Also you can get a Parking pass for partners which isn’t advertised !!!

I had my baby in may and they are absolutely lovely the made sure I was ok the entire time asking me how I feel and the minute my baby started to panic coming out the work fast to help me get him out they are amazing also pack everything you will need they only provide me with a baby hat

Maasive yay! I had a couple of stays prior to giving birth due to complications and they were always great. But when i went in after my waters broke they were amazing, making sure i needed anything and helping me through 3 days of contractions. The first midwife i had on the labour wasn't amazing but i loved my second. My baby ended up going into distress so had a category 1 c section and they litterally saved mine and babies life. I'd recommend pinders to anyone. The care we got after he was born was brilliant too, especially with feeding as we ended up needing to supplement with formula and me or my partner had no clue what we were doing 😂 the midwife stayed with us for so long teaching us how to bottle feed

I've nothing against pinderfields I had my first there but ive just had my second I was transferred to Barnsley due to how busy it was and it was the best care I've ever had. I'd say both a great choices :)

I was admitted waiting for a bed in the labour ward and waited 3 days before deciding to go home to wait there - I did have to fight for it, but the I think they were just being cautious. I was then induced with a drip and the staff was so attentive and couldn’t fault them. Had such a positive experience being induced, which I was thankful for after hearing horror stories. From when I was on the drip to giving birth was a total of 9 hours and only went as long as it did because I had to wait for an epidural. I don’t have anything else to draw on, but I couldn’t fault pinders and believe some of the delay experienced you’d get in any hospital.

I had my baby there in April 2024. Had shitty experiences in Leeds so opted for here. No complaints from me. 20 week scan the baby was being awkward and the sonographer was very patient. Things are a bit slow (sometimes for a couple of days) until you really are in active labour but that’s the NHS. During labour allllll of the midwives were amazing and I went from hours of trying for natural to an emergency C-section. In recovery after birth I would say they are very busy and understaffed but unless you need them that’s not an issue. Also, Leeds is 20 mins for me and Pinders 4 mins and being closer allowed me to stay at home labouring longer but also THANK GOD I didn’t have to be in the car any longer than needed once contractions were in full flow x
