Were you much happier with the care you received at the other hospital?
Yes. I definitely found the countess chaotic and understaffed. I felt rushed and unsupported at appointments and the midwives seemed impatient and overworked if I'm honest. I moved to Leighton as where I live is pretty much equidistant between chester, Warrington and crewe so it was only another 5 mins in the car. I was really pleased with my care.
@Sarah that’s exactly my experience with them, but I’m so far gone into my pregnancy now, I’m worried I’ve left it too late!

Currently 20 weeks and feel quite unsupported by staff at countess but unsure where else I’d like to go , I’ve expressed some serious concerns with staff and feel I was brushed off but when I’ve been in for back pain the staff were lovely so unsure how to feel !!
@Millie maybe it’s just their antenatal care that’s a bit haphazard at the moment, but it doesn’t instil me with confidence at all. I keep hearing positive experiences about Wrexham so debating changing to there
You can change at any point - just contact the maternity unit and say you'd like to move your care to there. They'll do your booking in appointment again, but you'll keep your community midwife. I have friends who have given birth at Wrexham and really rated it. I'm not sure what the rules are for wales/England though and whether these differ. I know in England it's definitely your right to choose the hospital where you'll give birth.
My CM said Wrexham was amazing and that’s where she recommends actually! You are welcome to change anytime even on the day! If your from Wales your CM should be able to move your care back to wales or you can call the hospital and self refer ( I have shared care as I live in wales at the moment and will give birth and live in England when baby arrives ) I have heard and seen a lot of positive feedback about Arrowe park aswell ☺️xx
I felt the same, I’ve moved to arrowe park and the care I have received so far has been excellent

Yes. I was unhappy with my care at my 12 week appointment for all these reasons and so moved to another hospital. It's your right to choose where you give birth, so if it doesn't feel right for you, follow your gut.
