Csection Recovery

I'm pregnant with my second, breech baby, and elective csection booked. I've had an emergency c-section with my last pregnancy and wasn't prepared mentally or physically making my recovery months, so I wanted to make sure this time I was prepared. Has anyone used these products and recommend them or have good experiences with them? They are the frida mom csection binder , recovery belt, and silicone scar patches or, similar. Any advice for recovery or just postpartum welcome, thank you. 😊

Following as I have a c section booked🫶🏼

Exact same situation as me. I'm 12 days pp from elective c section and I haven't used any of these products. My midwife said its best to let the scar heal without a dressing on it and just keep it clean and pat dry. I'm loving the Frida disposable underwear, especially with heavy bleeding too. The recovery is so much different this time. I've had such a positive experience and it's been so healing compared to my first ☺️

Honestly, both sections my surgeon said not to use a binder or belts as they are actually no good for healing and can make your core weaker. You want your muscles working. I also didn’t feel the need for any support after either surgery. Patches can only be used once healed, they help erase scarring not healing wounds. Just get big knickers, good snacks, senna tablets to help you in the loo and take your meds religiously. Set alarms and move. Movement is key to healing and makes the pain ease faster xx

I had an elective C-section and an emergency but to be honest I didn’t need these. Just take your time when recovering and if you’re still with your partner ask him to help you. When I was recovering with both as we have stairs going up the the bedrooms. I just stayed down stairs with the babies as the toilet and kitchen were down stairs and wasn’t ready to walk up and down the stairs Sorry I can’t help

Get a handle to attach to your bed to pull yourself up. I found that to be hardest part of recovery going from laying to sitting. Can get it on Amazon, bed aide

I sometimes used a binder when going on walks at first. But my hospital provided one. I used the silicone patches for a bit but my scar was looking pretty good, so it felt a bit silly. What has been more important to me is massaging with oil to break down scar tissue. Lotion would work just fine too. I think most of the postpartum products sold are gimmicks and a waste of money 🤷🏼‍♀️

Instead of a binder in the beginning i used high wasted underwear and high wasted yoga pants that I already had in my closet (this was more economical too). Silicone strip have been great but i have only started to use them once i had a healed scar after my 6 week check up

The best thing you can do is avoid bending and lifting for the first 8+ weeks, so plan ahead. I bought a folding changing table for downstairs so I could change nappies without having to bend over. A litter picking stick for all the things you will inevitably drop. Cardigans and leggings with big pockets so you can carry everything you need without hands. I purchased a binder but was too fat to wear it so can’t comment on this 😂 Silicone scar strips seemed to work well- started using these once the skin had healed. Oh and look into scar massage, you need to keep the area moving so adhesions don’t form and stick the layers of tissue together

I used Frida mom silicone patches and also the Frida mom grey postpartum pants (so comfy and stretchy). Do think I have seen so many improvements from the patches though they said to remove after 24 hours and used to make things so painful as still sticky so in the end I removed after a few days to replace - worked much better (don’t know if advised) but given it was past 6 weeks when I started using them it was less risk to leave them ☺️ definitely recommend these items
