I feel like I'm failing

My daughter is 1, she doesn't talk, only babbles. She occasionally waves but only if I wave first, does not clap or point. I work with her daily on words, clapping and pointing, I try to teach her the signs for more and all done and she's just not picking up any of it. I'm starting to get concerned. Her pediatrician said if she doesn't have a few words down by 15 months we will need to consider early intervention. She's been walking since 10 months, responds to her name, understands when I use hand gestures and say come here and she will come, will reach for things she wants etc. Am I overthinking or should I be concerned?

I think every baby is different and yours is on her own pace. Sounds like you’re doing everything right and she will pick up on it on her own time. Early intervention doesn’t hurt if at some point you feel like she needs it. My oldest son didn’t start talking a lot until 2 and they say they don’t catch up but they absolutely do. You’re doing great!

Thank you!!☺️

Seems normal

I agree with holly. Idk how you are with screen time but Mrs. Rachel specifically has helped my one year old twins develop skills. Now nether of them walk or stand on their own yet, they’ve only ever said dada but recently my son will say mama. My daughter babbles when she’s mad but she’s always been vocal. I have Ms. Rachel on their tv literally all day. They’re not glued to it but pay attention here and there. They also watch full episodes of Bluey and full movies like Moana, Encanto and Wish. I truly believe my screen time has been a benefit rather than a hindrance considering our household setup. I work outside of the house all day and my fiancé works at home all day and is the twins main caregiver. We do what we can and that’s where we’re at. We also are still introducing solids. Neither wants hard foods yet but I stopped trying to rush it. It’s easy to feel this way but I think with a shift of perspective you’ll see you’re doing amazing mama 🥰
