Potty training?

I’m a FTM to a little girl that will be 15 months old next week. Since the beginning of her life I have always narrated what we or she are/is doing. For the last couple weeks, 100% of the time she is about to poop she tells me “poop!” and then signs and says when she is is “all done.” Anytime she is with me while I use the bathroom she says “mama potty” and points to me sitting on the toilet. I know it’s so early, but would it be crazy to start some light potty training??? I have read conflicting things about starting this early and obviously I have never experienced potty training. If we went into it with no expectations and simply put her on the potty when she’s about to poop and at the times she usually pees, would that be ok? I want to avoid doing anything too early and potentially causing potty anxiety. I guess I’m just looking for advice and opinions. Thanks in advance!

Not crazy at all. My daughter shows interest in the toilet & likes to flush it so at 13 months I got one of the potty seats that go on the regular toilet. I put her on it a few times a day- mostly just to get her used to the idea of it. A lot of people do elimination communication from the very beginning so I truly don’t think it would have any negative effects. Reddit has been a good resource for me personally about the subject.

Nope not too early! I started sitting my 15m old on his potty when im going. He also loves helping me flush the toilet 😅. They love imitating so id say its never too early.

Thank you ladies for the advice!!!

I definitely don’t think it’s crazy. I heard when they can start saying “poop” when they need to go, you can start potty training.
