Really confused

So from yesterday I have a big lump in one breast. I went to Gp they said mastitis, symptoms : swollen, burn but not red, no fever. On Internet done people said don't feed from that breast first only desert for baby from that breast because the milk ducts are inflamed it's not really milk there which cause the lump it's inflamation of the ducts, don't use hakka pump. Others said feed feed feed baby on that breast to unblock the duct and hakka will help to take the blockage out. Both if this version sounds right, but which one is correct at the end???!!! 😳😵 I feed the baby all day on that breast, is the same........... I Started drinking antibiotics and use ice, but I am really confused. Anyone in this situation?

I got huge lumps in my breasts every few weeks that filled literally half my breast , I still offered both breasts each feed starting with the blocked one and he always managed to unblock it .

You should be offering feeds from that breast as normal. Not doing so can cause it issue to get worse. Same with pumping or expressing. Only do what you usually do. Anything else will trigger your breast to produce more and can make the issue worse. Are you UK-based? I can send some helpful resources. Currently fighting mastitis too.

Feed as normal. Ice and ibuprofen.

Feed like normal and use ice packs. Take ibuprofen

Ibuprofen for the pain and ice packs Sending prayers I was in similar situation If it doesn’t get resolved in a week or two then definitely get it checked and get ultrasound done- I still have small lump although ultrasound came clear

@Aggs yes I am

Ibuprofen. Ice (no heat as this increases inflammation) If you can sleep with frozen peas in your bra. Feed as usual don't increase feeds or pump unnecessarily It's not blocked from milk it's.bloxked from inflammation so reducing inflammation is the best thing

Since yesterday when I developed mastitis, I feel like my breast are not doing enough milk, my baby is nursing but still hungry, sound like he is not eating just using the breast like the pacifier, but no milk. He is very agitated and seems hungry after nursing. It's possible that my milk supply to drop because of the mastitis? Or because I am very stressed with this problem? The healthy breast is very soft and seems empty when baby is nursing.

Not sure how old your baby is but soft breasts isn't a sign of no milk. Just keep feeding on demand. Your baby crying at the breast helps to produce more milk. Our bodies are very clever 😊

I would also get back in touch with your GP or HV if you’re concerned about baby’s milk intake, or if your symptoms are not improving yet.
