Change of body after birth (flat bum)

Has anyone experienced this, after the pregnancy and birth I have noticed my arse has gone quite flabby/flat where as before it was 'plump/perky' best way to describe it. I am struggling with the change and was wondering how can I get this back or will it eventually return back to normal (especially with all those pushchair walks 🙈)

Mine did that after my first born but came back! Give it time ☺️

That’s my butt right now 😭😭. Second child and seems like my butt went flat and sagged a little. I think all the sitting I did from pregnancy and postpartum.. it affected my butt shape. I’m just waiting for Six weeks to finish and hope I have the time and energy to work out

Currently Preggo with my first and I’m experiencing the same thing 😭😭😭

Pancake ass 🤣 yes - are you breastfeeding?

I've read that it's linked to weak pelvic floor

You need pelvic therapy. Your deep core muscles are fucked and need a physical therapist to help determine which ones are tight versus loose. Once you fix that your butt should perk up again. In the meantime, Hunnybunsfit on IG has saved reels for dealing with pelvic floor/deep core postpartum. You can start doing her exercises if for some reason therapy isn't an answer:)

@Cici really?? How do you know if your pelvic floor is weak tho. If you can stilll squeeze it, i assume it means it’s still strong

A lot of people have weak pelvic floor to begin with, but after pregnancy and birth (especially vaginal but cesarean as well) your muscles will stretch and weaken. The pelvic floor does more than tighten the vagina, even though online you'll see a lot of "just do kegels!" Thats not all there js to it since there are multiple different muscles in the area. As far as knowing if you have weakness or a muscle imbalance, an OB might be able to tell you but likely a pelvic floor physiotherapist would be the best option. But some signs of weakness could be peeing when you jump/laugh/sneeze/cough, flattened butt, change in gait, weakness in other areas following birth, back pain and pelvic pain. Im sure there are other signs too
