If you're worried see your GP. I didn't have an episiotomy (they were about to, but with my next contraction he came out) I've got three second degree tears in different directions though. I was told that the stitches on the outside take 7-10 days to heal but the ones that are embedded in my muscles can take up to 3 months to dissolve. I've had 2 infections in my left tear but the other 2 tears have healed nicely but I agree it's uncomfortable still and things are different than before down there. My issues now are pelvic floor muscles, GP checked me and she said I could barely use my pelvic floor muscles at all. Hospital have referred me to pelvic health physio but got to wait til I'm 11 weeks PP for this. GP said they won't refer me to gynae until after 6 months as things can take a good while to go back to normal x
@Natalie i have my 6wk check next week so i will ask then! What type of cream is it? 🤔 sounds good!
@Cat oh gosh that sounds painful sorry to hear. I did see the gp and she wasn’t very helpful but i am seeing her again next week for my 6 wk check so i will ask her to check again then. 3 months i didnt know that! I saw the pelvic health team (wonder why you have to wait until you’re 11 wks pp, i saw mine at 5 weeks) but she just gave me advice and told me to do pelvic exercises for 1 min per day if i could to try build it back up. I will give it more time but sortof hoped it would be fully healed by now!
I’m almost 6 weeks pp, healed all fine but definitely more open, I can see things inside I never used too😂 you’re not alone!
@Tasha same!! Seeing my insides is really not what i expected 🥴
I’m 6 weeks postpartum and mine is still a bit open, I went to the doctors about it and she said she wasn’t too worried but gave me cream to help it heal. She thinks I wasn’t sewn quite tight enough. If you’re worried maybe see your gp.
