Gas in baby?

Does a squirmy baby mean they are having gas pains and are uncomfortable? He will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and when I put him in his bassinet to sleep, he will stretch and move a lot and then be awake again. He is moving his arms and legs a lot and acting like he’s uncomfortable.

Following. My daughter does the same squirmy and fussy

My baby does this and I rub her tummy clockwise and then will switch to patting in a downward motion too. It seems to help a little. Makes me feel like I’m doing something. I am lactose intolerant so thinking my baby might be too. So switching back to a non-cow’s milk diet to see if that helps also.

Yeah basically BUT that is most babies. They quite literally haven’t figured out how to fart yet and in a few more weeks they will lol 😂 I literally remember the day my daughter figured it out and then she was good (that’s why the Windi isn’t good for babies, they need to figure it out on their own!). But also watch out for active sleep, because looking back there were so many grunts and noises that my daughter made when I thought she was awake but in reality it was just active sleep. Some are just more grunty than others.

If it’s followed by crying, whimpers, or spit up, it is most likely gas. My baby does this when he needs to burp or spit up. If it isn’t followed by whimpers it could just be that he needs to be swaddled better as he’s waking himself up due to active sleep.
