I feed her in the car with a blanket over me but I also bring a pump and bottle so if she gets hungry I pump in the bathroom and pour it in the bottle. Also, milk stays good for up to 4 hrs at room temperature so if you’ll be home within that, it’s fine 😊
Car or cover. At the park, I found a secluded bench. At stores like target, I use a changing room. Nursing for me is always easier
I nurse wherever we go. A lot of times I’ll just get somewhere early so I have time to nurse in the car beforehand. Usually I don’t have a cover in the car but I’ll use a cover if I’m in public. I just nursed in the waiting room of the chiropractor yesterday and nobody batted an eye. I feel like us moms are the ones who overthink about bothering people more than people are actually bothered. That being said it took me having 4 kids to have zero cares about nursing in public lol
I normally just cover and feed wherever I am. One time I was at Costco and my baby was crying, so I just covered and held my baby and nurse her on the go. Luckily my husband was with me, so he pushed the cart and helped me if I needed it. There are light covers for breastfeeding.
I openly feed my baby, no cover, no hiding. If you’re comfortable go for it. Breastfeeding is protected in all 50 states, so if someone has an issue they gotta suck it up 🤷🏻♀️ If you want to go the pump route, try to get a diaper bag that has an insulated pocket so you can use an ice pack. (Might also invest in portable bottle warmer)
I pump before we leave and take a bit with me so that if she’s hungry at a time I can’t nurse she has it. Like if we’re driving in the car either on the way there or back… but I’ll try to either nurse or pump again after it’s been 4 hours from my initial pump.
I’m with Randie. I feed my baby whenever she’s hungry wherever she is. I don’t really worry about covering up or anything but know not everyone is comfortable with that. I’ve never had weird looks or remarks.
@Gwynalynn I would not recommend feeding baby a bottle in the car due to aspiration risk! Just wanted to point this out. But having a backup bottle is a great idea!
I nurse wherever but I always have a cover or blanket. Sometimes I'll do it in the car so I have a little more privacy.
@Claire yes that makes sense. We use bottles that don’t drip unless she sucks, and pace bottle feed. She’s actually never choked or coughed on a bottle in the car but plenty of times at the breast 😅😅 my letdown is just really fast and big for her. But yes it’s definitely worth mentioning and always something to be aware of and watch for! Thanks for mentioning it :)
i always pump on the way to my destination so then i have a fresh bottle in case she gets hungry and also bring some formula also just in case lol
I feed on demand wherever we are 🤷♀️ cover or no cover depending on what I’m wearing. If you are pumping and want to store milk, I highly recommend the Ceres Chill bottles. They are a really clever system that keeps milk super cold all day long! You can even fit a bottle nipple on it to feed on the go too. Definitely look it up!
i’ve seen plenty of moms nursing with a cover in public. I think it’s just based on your comfort level. I personally haven’t because I haven’t ran into my baby crying where there isn’t an empty room for me to use. I bought this pack off amazon in case I ever run into a situation like that https://a.co/d/5HNXaQL
