Movements

Hey guys, FTM here. My baby-girl has been pretty chill throughout this pregnancy. She’s never been a crazy bubba so I’ve always found it a little difficult when tracking her movements. I generally have rough times where I feel like she’s active and then outside of that typically nothing. I thought this was changing around two weeks ago as she was wiggling and responding a lot to pokes and pushes but It’s decreased again. Went in yesterday, but they seemed happy with the monitoring and discharged me. Gentle taps today, minimal rolling, nothing crazy considering I see loads of people saying their baby looks like they’re trying to escape or constantly moving etc. 37 + 2. Anyone else? I have been on maternity since 30 weeks (personal choice), so I’m not sure if this has made an impact I.e I relax and chill quite a lot so she’s not typically dealing with loads of noise/movement. I don’t eat loads of sweets/chocolate. Anyone else have a calm baby?

I have the exact same situation. Baby is just not overly active, baby has moments of activity. Today especially Ive been noticing not very active at all since 5.30am that was the last moment. I’m going to wait a bit more and see cos last time I went to triage baby starting moving loads in the afternoon and I was there for an hour and they were happy with baby movements. Mostly seems to be more active during the day and afternoon for me personally and as it’s still early afternoon I will wait a bit more hoping baby will move more for me. It is quite confusing and worrisome isn’t it

I have a chill baby too, not trying to escape and has moments of more activity. As long as I get daily activity I generally feel like she's okay

I’m the same with my baby. 36 weeks and she’s not that active. Seen the doctors and been in for reduced movements quite a few times but everything is ok. They told me to try not compare it to other people as all pregnancies and babies are different xx

Ahh ladies, thanks for commenting! It’s so worrisome sometimes though because you’re told x y z and you see x y z it is a little like “Hey little one, are you all OK”. Lol. I’ve felt some wriggles and some movements, but again nothing too crazy. My friend said today it could be that she’s back to back and that’s why her movements feel a little less. I’d just hate for something to happen but at this rate I’ll be in every single day so I’m trying to just give myself some grace and trust our baba

I’ve had a chill quiet baby throughout my pregnancy as well. I didn’t feel any “movement” till I hit 26 weeks and even they were just small flutters (I have posterior placenta as well!) I noticed little one decides to be active at night and I tend to miss a lot of his activities. since around 35 weeks all i get is more of a "rolling"/"moving" sensation with occasional little taps/kicks. i have never been in for reduced movements as ive always been quite happy that if i feel some type of movement a couple times a day he is fine. definitely never had the extreme movements of baby trying to "climb" his way out. i think once you pick up whats normal for baby you cant let others experience dictate yours. you are definitely not alone

Thank you lovely. Wishing you and your baba and safe rest of journey. X
