I tried it a couple years back and it made me gain weight. I also just didn’t feel like it helped my hormonal balance because I have endometriosis. The removal was more painful than the insertion.
@Josie whats side effect ? do u still get period
I was on it for quite awhile. I definitely gained weight, but not as much as when I was on depo. I had regular periods for the entire duration.
I had it for the full 3 years , I didn't like it cuase I stopped having my period around the 3rd year mark I assumed it failed and got a pregnancy test (negative) it made me gain some weight but not much , I did like not having to take pills
I gained some weight but my period was lighter and once a month and not longer than 3 days
i’ve been off of it almost 5 years now but i did have in for 3 years. i had heavy and long periods for 6 months and then no period for over 2 years. i would never get it again tbh
I had 2 back to back all through college and after got it removed in 2022 after a year or two into my second one. My hormones were CRAZY I never had a period for yearssss. Which in college I thought was awesome…I developed bad PCOS (for reference I was a college soccer player was super skinny and fit kind of PCOS) but I got severe acne, mood swings, hot flashes, hair on my face. & the worst of all painful cysts that would pop and debilitate me literally dying throwing up crying in the bath tub for hours. I got it removed and it took like 8 months to finally get my period back after trying to heal naturally and balance my hormones.
I did have one years ago and it was better than other birth controls I've tried. Your arm hurts after but it goes away the next day. You might bruise but I had mine for 2.5 years and it was nice not to have to take pills.
